Talkie talk
So I read this with great interest today.Emirates, the airline is the first airline to allow mobile phone calls on flights.
To me this is really bad news.
I fly - a lot, typically 100,000 miles a year.
One thing that is nice, especially on the long 10+ hour flights is the ability to work quietly, take a nap, relax and just chill out before what is typically a mad dash when I land.
The thought of people sitting next to me, yelling into their bluetooth, selling stocks or closing deals is not my idea of fun.
The problem with cell phones is that it is never a private thing.
It is also one of those things you can never ignore, like you can the constant drone of the airplane engines.
I really hope that this is the exception and not the rule, but knowing how much people like to talk on their phones I am guessing that public demand will drive this to be the norm.
I am grateful that costco had a deal on noise cancelling headphones this week, I guess I will put them to use sooner than I thought!
