OK - well, I was not expecting that!
I received a huge number of e-mails asking me not to stop this blog.
I'm really flattered and didn't realise that my random mumblings were such a big part of peoples routines.
OK - so I have decided to continue blogging, but with less of a personal life focus (you may find some previous posts will disappear) and more of a MD's doing something crazy slant :)
So I guess this is where I announce that I have been selected by Icebreaker to compete for their team in the Speights Coast to Coast Race.
I am probably Icebreakers biggest fan, I only wear icebreaker, I spend all of my money on it and I love their gear. Every wool hat, scarf, underwear piece, t-shirt, jumper, pretty much everything I own is made by Icebreaker, so to get to be a part of this for them is a dream come true :)
Let me just tell you that this is WAAAYYYYY outside of my comfort level.
The Speight's Coast to Coast traverses the South Island of New Zealand from Kumara Beach on the Tasman Sea to Sumner Beach on the Pacific Ocean. Competitors cycle 140 kms (three stages of 55km, 15 km and 70 km), run 36 km (including a 33 km mountain stage that crosses the Southern Alps) and kayak 67kms of the grade two Waimakariri River through the Grand Canyon of New Zealand, the Waimakariri Gorge.
Yeh - well, lets see, I don't kayak, and I ride my bike 10km to work each day at a leisurely pace, that is not the same as 140km in the mountains!
Well, I was looking for a challenge....right?
So I guess this is day one of my training post, 6 months to go.
:)

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that the blog is continuing!
Congrats on getting chosen!
My brother did the Coast to Coast a few years back and it's a lot of fun. :)
